Ayurveda and Health

Ayurveda is an ancient technique for healthy life. Ayurveda essentially considers use of natural remedies to prevent and cure diseases. In fact, the primary thrust of Ayurveda is on prevention rather than cure. It believes in improving the health of the vital systems of the body to keep diseases away.

Ayurveda is composed of two Sanskrit / Hindi words - ayur and veda. Ayur means life (also health and age) and veda means science (also book of knowledge). So Ayurveda can be regarded as a storehouse of knowledge on how to be healthy in a natural way.

Ayurveda evolved in the ancient times in India and was practiced by vaidyas, who were like the doctors of today. All the the kings used to have their raj vaidya, who was like a personal or family doctor for the king and his family.

There's a lot of information available about Ayurveda on the Internet which can be easily searched out. You can also search for recipes based on the philosophy of Ayurveda. These recipes can be used by you to prepare healthy, wholesome and nutritious diet for yourself and your family. And yes, it is generally quite easy to follow such a diet on an everyday basis.
